LBCC requires new students to take the placement test. Most students take all three tests (reading/writing/math) at the same time while some only need to take one or two parts. Please choose accordingly from the options below. Select a calendar under the appropriate heading to see all of the different times available. If one calendar does not have the time you want, try another calendar. Only schedule one appointment at a time.

Tests are not timed but take approximately 90 minutes for a whole test and 45-60 minutes for partial tests. If you have not completed by the time the office closes, you will have to come back on another day to finish (does not apply to ATB testing).

Your application fee covers the cost of your initial placement test. If you are not applying to LBCC or you are retaking your tests, the test cost is $5 each. Payments should be made prior to checking in for the test. You can pay either at the Business Office in Calapooia Center 130 or at the Admissions office in Takena Hall.

NOTE Regarding ATB: If you do not have a high school diploma or GED (and you won't have one by the time you start school) you are required to take the Ability to Benefit test. Ability to Benefit tests must be completed in one test session. You cannot come back later to finish the test.
