The College Writing Center:
Enhances students' mastery of the reading, thinking, writing, re-writing, and documenting skills embedded in composing any type of academic discourse required throughout the college-level curriculum;
Supports students in becoming active, independent, learners through a holistic approach to the needs of the writer, not merely the piece of writing, by focusing on effective instruction to promote a more positive attitude towards composing;
Supports faculty in eliciting purposeful, focused, clear, and correct college-level prose from their students to satisfy their expectations for their particular writing assignments.
